Special Attendance Fund (saf)
efsli welcomes applications for funding to assist interpreter colleagues from eligible countries to attend efsli 2015 in Warsaw, Poland, from Friday 11th to Sunday 13th September 2015.
Interpreters often hear that they are the voice of the Deaf, that they speak on behalf of the Deaf, in their name or in their stead. When interpreting goes smoothly it results in applause, but when something goes wrong…well, then everybody knows… Next year’s conference “To say or not to say – challenges of interpreting from sign language to spoken language” is about difficulties interpreters experience when interpreting from sign language to spoken language (speech and writing). Where do they come from and how can they be dealt with? How to teach and master voice over effectively? And finally, how to make sure that our Deaf customers can trust us with what they want to say?
SAF is open for application from
1st January 2015 to 31st March 2015
