AIRPORT:

  • WARSZAWA CHOPIN AIRPORT – from Warszawa Chopin airport take bus 175 to Centrum – (29 min)
  • WARSZAWA MODLIN take Masovian Railways KM9 from Modlin station to Warszawa Centralna and next take the tram 7, 8, 9, 22, 24 or 25 and get off at the first stop (Centrum) – (2 h).

A time-limit (short-term) ticket entitles to many journeys made on a short-term basis – up to 60 minutes, with as many changes of lines as necessary. The time-limit ticket entitles to travel by all ZTM lines, i.e. by bus, tram, metro and urban rapid rail. This is a bearer ticket.

During the first journey the ticket should be validated immediately after boarding the vehicle. When travelling by metro, you should validate the ticket at the entrance gate before entering the platform, or in the validating machine available next to the lift.

After validation, the time-limit ticket remains valid throughout the number of minutes as indicated by its nominal value.

Types of time-limit tickets:

  • 20-minute, valid both in Zone 1 and 2 (3,40 PLN)

Single fare transfer ticket entitles to an unlimited number of journeys for a period not exceeding 75 or 90 minutes from its validation or entitling to a single journey to a stop or station which is the last on the route.

Types of single fare ticktes:

  • Ticket for zone 1 (4,40 PLN)
  • Ticket for zone 1+2 (7 PLN)

A short-term ticket entitles to many journeys within a specified number of hours or days, with an unlimited number of changes made during its validity period. The short-term ticket entitles to travel on all ZTM lines, i.e. by bus, tram, metro, and urban rapid rail. This is a bearer ticket.

Short-term tickets are included in the “Wspólny bilet” (Integrated ticket) offer – they entitle to travel by trains of Koleje Mazowieckie (Warsaw rail) and Warszawska Kolej Dojazdowa – WKD (Warsaw Suburb Rail).

Short-term tickets include the following:

  • 1-day City Travelcard entitles to unlimited number of journeys for 24 hours from its validation (15 PLN)
  • weekend ticket entitles to unlimited number of journeys from 7:00 PM on Friday till 8:00 AM on Monday (24 PLN)
  • group weekend ticket entitles a group of up to 5 people to unlimited number of journeys from 7:00 PM on Friday till 8:00 AM on Monday (40 PLN)

Each of the short-term tickets may be used only for zone 1, or for both ticket zones – 1+2.

The best offer for conference participants is weekend ticket or group weekend ticket.

The Polish Zloty (PLN or ZŁ) is the official currency in Poland. The approximate exchange rate (as of 11 January 2015) is 4,27 PLN to a Euro and 0,28 PLN to a US Dollar. Exchange rates for all major currencies are available here.

Polish sockets are standard European sockets CEE 7/5, with a voltage of 230 V/50Hz. All visitors coming from countries using appliances/plugs that do not work with such sockets/voltages (e.g. USA, UK) are advised to bring adapters.

Poland phone operators use both of the two standard European GSM bands, 1800 and 900 MHz. All European mobile phones will work without problems but visitors from the US may need a tri-band phone.
