2020 efsli and EULITA’s joint training
_______________________________________________
efsli and EULITA are pleased to launch a webinar on
“LEGAL TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETING: NEW CHALLENGES, NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR SIGNED AND SPOKEN LANGUAGE INTERPRETERS”
Registration deadline: closed
The training will be delivered by Patricia Kerres from Louvain School of Translation and Interpreting – LSTI – Belgium, and it is designed for both spoken and signed language interpreters, students and trainers.
Description of the seminar here
The trainer: Patricia Kerres has a degree in interpreting from the Institut libre Marie Haps in Brussels. She is currently working on an ad hoc basis on the translation and interpreting market in the German/French bidirectional combination. In the past, she has devoted much of her time to studying the communication support needs of deaf people as part of her activities at the PROFILS centre (Research, orientation and training programme for sign language interpreters at the ILMH). She also campaigned for a curriculum to be proposed to French sign language translators in Belgium, now existing in the curriculum of the Louvain School of Translation and Interpreting. Her main activity today is centred on teaching translation and interpreting in full practice (bachelor’s and master’s degrees) at the Université Saint Louis in Brussels and the UCLouvain in Louvain-la-Neuve. Further, she developed the training of sworn translators and interpreters at the LSTI, where she is responsible for the courses on Ethics and Intercultural Communication. Finally, she devotes part of her time to the training of trainers and students in the master of translation in various countries in sub-Saharan Africa (Ghana, Senegal, Kenya, Mozambic and Cameroun).
