We are happy to announce to you the Deaf working seminar will be held on 10th and 11th of September in Antwerp.

The theme of the working seminar is

“Settings where Deaf Interpreters and Translators are Employed“
The aim of the seminar is to review and describe diverse settings (e.g. T.V., web-based translations, court, conferences, governmental agencies etc) in Europe, where Deaf interpreters and/or translators are engaged. It also aims to illustrate strategies of team interpreting.

Dr. Robert Adam and Prof. Dr. Christian Rathmann

The structure of the seminar is as follows:

10th September:
Morning: Introduction and Opening Presentations (Adam & Rathmann)
Early Afternoon: Presentations on DI-Settings I (approx. 3 – 4 talks)
Late Afternoon: Discussion (leaders: Adam & Rathmann)

11th September
Morning: Presentations on DI-Settings II (approx. 3 – 4 talks)
Early Afternoon: Discussion and Concluding Remarks on DI-Settings
(Adam & Rathmann)
Late Afternoon: “AGM” of DI-Committee at EFSLI and preparation for AGM.

 

Availability

There are 30 places  available. Selection of participants will be made according
to the „first come, first served“ system. (8 places are reserved for participants who are presenting on DI-Settings)
